Hey familia!! Well things are going well here in UR-7. We are teaching and trying our best to find new people. We marked a baptism but it fell through because his dad picked him up for the weekend. But this week we will help him and everything happens for a reason so I am not worried. His mother is still trying to get an answer, maybe this week she will receive it. We have a new program here on the mission. In 24 months which is a missionary’s normal time, he will open up a new ward. We have the numbers to open up and divide the mission. I am thinking this will really help the mission grow and I think we could see this mission split in 2-3 years!!!! I am really excited to get this new program underway. We have been working more this week trying to find people to teach. We grabbed the ward list and began visiting people who are attending church regularly to see if they have references. Also I have been getting to know more members. On Tuesday, we had our zone conference. It went well and we learned a lot more about what we should be doing. I met Elder Broadhead from Uncle Kevin’s ward. He is a neat guy and found out we did some of the same things before the mission. If it works out I will see about playing a game of tennis against him before I leave. On Wednesday we went to Camaragibe and had our Zone dinner. That was a blast and then we didn’t have lunch on Saturday so I made pizza for me my comp and the ward mission leader, Maxi, and also Bruno our ward missionary. We discussed the mission here and made plans for future activities that will bring more excitement and more investigators to the church. I also had a good challenge making brownies for our Family Home evening. We planned for more than 5 investigators there but only two showed up. Luckily though they have been to church and accepted a visit so we will work this week with them. So I had a good time cooking this week. Now for the funny part, I have always thought that our apartment was a little creepy. My comp and Bruno won’t stop talking about werewolves and what not. So yeah it puts crazy stuff in the mind when trying to sleep. I was trying to get to sleep Saturday night and there was a crash in the other room and I heard what sounded like someone walking or rather sliding on the floor. I woke up my comp and we inspected everything. Needless to say I wasn’t exactly happy because it’s creepy. Well I closed the door and we didn’t have more problems that night. Last night I said a good prayer and it happened again except this time I decided not to worry about it. My comp said he was hearing it also and so that was about all I could take. We inspected the apartment again and still the same thing. Well it happened the third time and the sound entered the room. The funny thing was I didn’t freak out I just got really mad because I wanted some sleep. So my comp broke down and showed me the trick he was playing on me. It was really genius I give him that and pretty funny afterwards because of course I knew what it really was. He put a string on a book and things on top of the book. When pulling the string, all the stuff fell making the crashing sound and then he would pull the book across the floor making the sliding sound. He did this all while in his bed. Of course I being on the other side of the room and it being dark never expected anything of him. I am glad it was just that and nothing like the stories I’ve been hearing on the mission. I guess some missionaries have seen some crazy things here. Oh well. It at least taught me to put more faith in the protection of our apartment. Haha… if I was a good prankster I would think of a good way to get him back… haha… Well I am glad you will get to travel. I can’t wait to do some good traveling when I get back. At least you will be able to make some good laughs and memories while you are in Des Moines. I will pray for your activities and travels and health. I hope you take the time to enjoy the memories you will make and I know it will be a little stressful but at times we need the stressful time to keep us on our toes for the bigger things that could happen. I hope you will be able to find a cool site to see or new things to do while you’re out. I feel this will bless you a lot in one way or another. Especially when the Lord said it will be fine to do. I love you all. I hope everything will work out just fine. I am praying for you each day. I am proud of each of you and your hard work in your callings and for your love. I love you. Have a great week. Elder Allred
